Chainsaw Art (Ch-art) is perfect for those who, for one reason or another have a tree stump sitting dormant in your garden. Especially is you have no fireplace where you can safely burn the wood and organising a stump grinder is an added expense. Chainsaw Art can make the stump look more appealing?

Have you ever hear ofĀ Chainsaw ArtĀ (Ch-art) in the garden? (Shortening words really is the Australian wayšŸ˜‰)

This Chainsaw Art (Ch-art) was originally a fig tree however,Ā due to their extensive root system and the fact they grow absolutely huge, having one this close to the house was a disaster waiting to happen.

The day my husband removed the tree was a sad day for everyone as, being surrounded by established foliage in a hot climate is the preferred option (natures air conditioning), as well as having a natural privacy curtain. We would much rather look out the window at greenery rather than at a neighbour.

Never the less, keeping the house and foundations safe was much more important.

The tree didn’t know it yet but this was its first, definitely not its last, introduction to the chainsaw.

In this case a quirky garden feature.Ā Turns out we get a lot more natural light into the kitchen with the tree gone which is lovely and, having a sculpture in the garden rather than a tree stump was perfect #lovelanguageā¤ļø.

This is the latest idea to come ‘Out of the Man Cave’.

To Create Chainsaw Art You will need:

  • Chainsaw – in this case bigger isn’t necessarily better!
The shorter the blade the more agile, making it easier to be creative
  • Safety equipment – glasses, work boots etc
  • Marking pen
  • Tree stump or piece of wood

Walah!Ā My husband refers to his creation as the ‘Totem Pole’Ā šŸ˜.Ā

Looked even more welcoming when we placed fresh mulch in the garden. You might also like thisĀ previous post to see how we use cardboard as a weed mat when mulching.

Another example of a feature Chainsaw Art (Ch-art)Ā project.

This stump had been sitting in the garden at the family farm forever and, because it was quite a thick stump, we could create a garden chair. The trouble was there was only one and we each had to book in to have a turnšŸ˜œ.
