We joined hundreds of people wandering around enjoying the art with sand beneath our toes, the sound of the ocean lapping at the shore and the seagulls calling out overhead – can you picture it?

My senses were well and truly on overload last weekend ‘mooching’ in the Autumn sunshine appreciating (and perhaps occasionally questioning) an eclectic display of art at the 11th Annual Sculpture By The Sea Exhibition held on Cottesloe Beach, Western Australia.

Having less ‘stuff’ is certainly encouraging us to leave our little ‘nest’ quite regularly to explore and discover our surrounding area and support local community-run events.  Every day we pass sculptures from previous years exhibition which decorate the area – in schoolyards, middle of round-a-bouts and nature reserves so we were keen to see this years display all in the one location.

Maybe you can make the one in Bondi from the 22 October – 8 November 2015 or Denmark from 5 June – 5 July 2015.

When I see something inspiring I experience this incredible urge to share, so, over a period of three visits, my humble iphone and I (together with our limited photographic ability) have attempted to capture both the Sculptures By The Sea pieces and the surrounding atmosphere.

This is not the beginnings of a career in photography or a change of direction towards being an acclaimed Art Critic. Publishing these images is simply a quest to make you and whoever you choose to share them with, smile.

Did we do ok – can you pick a favourite?
